Funding Formula for Student Transportation Updated
Fall 2023
The Ministry of Education has announced a new funding formula model for student transportation services.
Among the changes in the new funding formula model:
- Updated costing model
- Increased paid days, statutory holidays
- Annual reviews
The Driver Retention Program (DRP) has been renamed the Retention and Recruitment program (R&R) and will continue to reward drivers for continuous employment throughout the school year. Details on when the payments will be flowed to the consortia through to operators and drivers haven’t been disclosed yet.
